ABOUT US

Carlette, the human facilitator, holds a Masters Degree in Health Psychology.  She has worked in both the clinical and corporate environment before making the choice to work full time with horses.  The past 13 years has been spent teaching both able-bodied and disabled children the love for horses and riding skills.  The past two years was dedicated developing courses specifically aimed at corporate clients, in both Teambuilding and Leadership Development Courses.  Her passion for people grew in developing a unique Personal Growth Program.

Equiteam are based at Kloofzicht, a five star venue in the hart of the Cradle of Humankind. The program starts with individual exercises, just to make everybody familiar with the horses.  In these individual exercises, we concentrate on trust, self insight and direction.  By observing each other, you learn what the other person thinks about themselves and how they manage new situations. In the group exercises we give you challenging tasks to complete as a team.  In these exercises there are lots of laughter and fun but it creates a strong team spirit and each person's unique personality within the team comes to light.  We also deal with change in the work place, managing conflict, the role of non verbal communication and in the final exercise, we focus on setting healthy boundaries.  In our experience, each person gets something unique out of the experience.  The time spent in the paddocks is usually about 3 hours.  While we are busy with the exercises, the facilitators give constant feedback.  It is a relaxed, non judgmental environment and creates a space for open and honest dialogue.  We spend more time on subjects that might need some attention.

The horses that we use are really friendly and they have been part of my extended family for many years.  I trust them with any situation that we might put them in.
